The {Crazy} Cycle

  {via}

It’s amazing what God can teach you -
when you meet Him half way.

We just completed our first premarital bible study

 -12 weeks . 5 couples-
…………..

:: Love & Respect ::

“So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
Ephesians 5:33

{Husbands should love. Wives should respect.}

Simple right?

 Sadly, many couples never fully understand this concept.

hmmm..wouldn't it be easier
if women were called to love & men to respect.

This is part of God's perfect plan.
It's easier to help someone with their struggle - when the struggle  come natural to you.

…………..

{The Crazy Cycle}

Dr. Emerson came up with the perfect analogy.

When the wife acts disrespectful, the husband will act unloving. When the husband acts unloving, the wife will act disrespectful.

So on & so forth…

Have you ever experienced this?
 I know we have & it can be tough.

How can we get off this cycle?

Think about it this way...
Women hear through pink earphones & men hear through blue earphones (Emerson).

The key is, to try and hear how your partner is hearing to understand where they are coming from.

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:31.

…………..

When a husband loves, a wife respects. When a wife respects, a husband loves.

{Love energizes a woman. Respect energizes a man}

See the new cycle?

Next time you feel yourself on the crazy cycle, take a step back and remember to ask your partner how you offended them.

 Both meet in the middle.

 pink + blue = purple
Purple symbolized royalty. Jesus is our King.

Try to be more like Him
you will begin to please one another.
“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”
Ephesians 5:21

…………..

God cares about your relationship.

I find myself guilty at times turning to self-help books instead of
His word.
The bible is filled with so many answers, if I would only read it a little more.

 “Love is patient, love is kind.
   It does not envy, it does not boast.”
  1 Corinthians 13:4
