{5 Ways to Freshen Up Your Home This Summer}
Currently, the store is surrounded in cool blues, greens, ivory, cream and silver.... which sort of sounds similar to this little house.
Remember the paint colors we went with last summer? Believe it or not, we are still painting around here- we learned that painting before doing major renos is not a great idea. So now, we have been spending months going back in and touching everything up.
Want to give your house a summer update?
1) Add a fern - fresh greenery is always nice in the kitchen/dining room area. We choose to stick with a fern because of its fullness, and filled the glass pitcher next to it with real lemons to contrast in color. Of course, the downside of eating your decor is keeping it long enough to look set at all times.
2) New prints - Yes, pictures are always lovely - but how about throwing a new print into the mix. Have you seen the new fad lately all over pinterest? We had this print displayed at our wedding and loved it so much, that we decided to display it on our home buffet table. & reclaimed wood frames- can't get much cozier than that!
3) Fresh feeling silk flowers - I'm not a huge fan of fake flowers, unless they actually feel real. Try adding a short bouquet of neutral flowers to instantly make your room feel softer & more romantic. We placed the bouquet next to a black & white wedding picture and put it onto a silver serving tray in our master bedroom.
4) Sea shells & recycled glass jars - they are all over PB right now. Just take a recycled glass jar (this one I thrifted) and fill it with all sorts of different sea shells or even sand. I picked up these shells while at the beach last summer and still have a lot more filling up to do to make this jar complete.
5) Lanterns & candles - I love hosting dinner or brunch parties and having candles lit. It instantly sets the mood, right?! When I found these lanterns, I knew they would be the perfect addition to our seafoam green buffet table.
