How To Make A Wedding Website

I want to share a secret that has really changed my wedding planning process.

Since my fiance & I are getting married in my hometown (and don't live there), we knew that having a website would make the "destination" much easier for our guests.

What: How to create a Wedding Website
Where: www.weddingwire.com
When: Throughout your engagement period

After doing much research on the best host for a free wedding website, this is what we came up with.

 Use weddingwire.com

1. Great layouts & is very simple to use.
2. Many options for personalization.
3. A domain name that includes you & your finace's name.
4. Allows for you to put up many pictures.

Our Wedding Website:

Step 1: Introduction Page
  •     Consider this page the front cover of your wedding. By viewing your intro, your guests will get a better understanding of your wedding's mood.

Step 2: Welcome Page
  •      Thank guests for visiting your site
  •      Date, time, location of your wedding
  •      Theme (if you have one)

Step 3: Our Story Page
  •  Story of how you met
  •  Your shared passions

Step 4: About the Bride & Groom Page
  •  A bio on the bride
  •  A bio on the groom
In our bio, we decided to include where we are currently living, our college experience, our current occupations and our hobbies.

Step 5: Contact Us Page
  • A way for your guests to be able to email you directly with questions

Step 6: Registry Page
  • Links to your direct registries

When your guests click the "view our registry" button, it will take them to the store site:

Step 7: Local Accommodations Page
  • Hotels near the venue
  • Hotels in the downtown area
  • Hotels near family

Step 8: Local Salons & Shopping Page
  • Reputable Salons
  • Reputable Malls & Boutiques

I hope this tutorial helped you better understand the ins & outs of a wedding website. There are many more tools that can be incorporated in your site (RSVP, bridal party bios, etc). When you are ready to create one, browse around and see what works best for you!
