On the last day of school (Friday), my husband booked a flight for me to leave to Peru with him for business. So here we are, in the sweet city of Lima, Peru. This week I plan on sitting back, taking in this beautiful country, spending time with my husband and watching him do his thing. How are you kicking off the summer?
Check back tomorrow to get a peak at the bridal tea party I threw for my little and best friend this past weekend! It was lovely!
Have you ever been to Peru? Any recommendations you want to pass along?
I tried to make this week fly as fast as possible since next week is the last week at school before we get off for summer vacation. The kids already know it's coming so you can image how it is!
This weekend we are headed north to our Memorial Day golf/beach resort spot that we went to last year. I am looking forward to unwinding, spending lots of time with my hubby, eating a lot and maybe fitting in a little golf practice ;)
Here was my week in a nutshell:
I hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend and get plenty of rest! Sweet Day!
Last week I shared a new diet program I was asked to try out. Today, I want to share my thoughts on the program so you can see if it's a right fit for you!
For those of you who've never heard of Deliver Lean, it is a company that was made up by a group of foodies who knew there had to be a more convenient way to eat healthy.
Here are some menu items I got to test and have reviewed in the video below:
Breakfast:
- blueberry multi grain pancakes (263 calories)
- greek breakfast burrito with feta, tomato and spinach (378 calories)
- almond french toast with blueberry syrup (404 calories)
Lunch:
- cuban lentil papaya chicken salad wrap (331 calories)
- tuna roasted pepper lentil wrap (386 calories)
- shrimp cake with spinach slaw and coconut almond dressing (265 calories)
- chicken marsala with celery mash Dinner:
- cuban ropa vieja with carmalized onions & carrots (336 calories)
- miso steak with sweet potato mash
- anchio tequila chicken - shrimp panang curry with vegtables (331 calories)
- grouper with spinach, tomoto and olives (259 calories)
Snack:
- gluten free brownie
- sweet potato hummus with pita
- cold press juice (spinach, ginger, cucumber, green apple, parsley, lime)
The thing I found most convenient about Deliver Lean was their delivery option. They either deliver to your workplace or home between the hours of 12am-6am.
Overall, the food did meet my expectations with the exception of a few. I am a picky veggie eater so I did not care for some of the veggies that the meals came with. On the other hand though, trying out this plan taught me to try squash spaghetti which is now one of my new favorites!
If you are still trying to figure out if this program is right for you, read on...
For you if...
- you do not like to cook
- you find yourself with little time
- you want to eat healthy but do not know where to begin
- you are a professional that makes enough money to cover $7.00 per meal 3x a day
- like eating an assortment of healthy foods
- you are a stay at home mom and find no time to dedicate to your nutrition
- you like veggies
Not for you if...
- you love to cook everyday
- you like to eat large portions
- you are not interested in eating clean all of the time
- you do not like vegetables
So what do you think? Want to give it a shot for a month to see how you feel about it?
For a limited time, Deliver Lean is offering 2 Free Days with the purchase of a 1 month plan ($7.95 per meal, 3 meal minimum per day). Check it out here and let me know if it met your expectations.
Have you ever been to Miami Beach beautiful, sunny, calm Miami Beach this time of year? Did I say calm? Yes I did. The key to Miami Beach is knowing where to go. There are many quiet spots to see just a few miles north of the infamous South Beach.
This was during our visit to the Loews hotel. And well, if you've never been, you have to make your way down here. There are so many neat things to do in the area this time of year. Come for a weekend, I promise you will enjoy it. Just make sure that weekend is not Memorial Day Weekend - I hear that can get pretty crazy.
I am really looking forward to summer rolling around in the next couple of weeks. I see myself enjoying this gem more often then not. Happy Monday!
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Deliver Lean and was asked to review their food quality and service. Since my husband and I try and eat healthy on a regular basis anyway, I figured I'd give it a shot and see how well the program fit into our eating lifestyle.
With summer around the corner.. who wouldn't want to join a program that could help you fit into that new bikini?
Menu
One thing that immediately stood out to me about this program was the variety of menu options they provide.
Traditional // Paleo // Gluten Free // Organic // HCG // OnJuice // RX Meals // Baked By DL
Traditional: designed to help you reach a healthy body fat
Paleo: four entrees a day to keep your diet on track
Gluten Free: designed specifically for busy people looking to lose weight fast
Organic: best for busy professionals or stay at home moms looking to lose weight
HCG: formulated specifically for those adhering to this strict diet
OnJuice: organic, cold pressed juices
RX Meals: reversing and preventing chronic disease
Baked by DL: desserts ranging from 90-300 calories that may be eaten in moderation
Delivery
After talking to some friends about this program and others, I received feedback on other programs that they tried in the past with many complaints from delivery times to being inconvenient with their daily schedule. Unlike similar programs, Deliver Lean delivers three times a week to your home or business between the hours of 12:00am-6:00am.
Packaging
Each meal is packed in an individual plastic container that has the name of the meal, calories, protein and carbs listed on the front. It is such a great feature to see exactly what you are putting into your body before you eat it!
Desserts
Although Deliver Lean is a diet plan, they do offer desserts that range between 90-300 calories because they believe everything in moderation works. How good would it feel to have yummy and healthy treats delivered to your home - brownies, biscottis, carrot cake muffins, custards, cookies and scones.
I must admit, on my second delivery I received a gluten free brownie and it was the item I was looking the most forward to.. and boy was it worth it!
I can't wait to fill you in next week on my review of the program. I might even throw in a vlog to get you up close and personal with the food!
