I am linking with From My Grey Desk today for the usual Friday link up.

Here is this week's top 5 in a nut shell:

1. All ready to go!

2. Baked a ton for our road trip.

3. Attempted the twisted pony.

4. New Essie Color. Geranium. Love it.

Have a sweet weekend! I am all ready for our trip! As soon as the dismissal bell rings, we are hitting the road!

wedding invitations: adrianne + jimmy

This invitation & program duet was created for Adrianne & Jimmy's November wedding that will be held in Tampa, Florida.  The bride wanted her paper goods to coordinate with the wedding color scheme {plum and gold}.

While printed on fine white card stock with various fonts to reflect the couple's style, the invite was also adhered to a plum backer to achieve a framed look. A smaller response card was tucked neatly into the metallic gold "amor" band to create an elegant layered effect.

Best of luck Adrianne & Jimmy. May your wedding day be filled with many blessings and memories!

Biotin Shampoo

As you may know, I love to review products. I am currently using Nature's Gate Shampoo & love it. It keeps my hair shiny & grease free for several days.

Go and check out this Shampoo. It has done wonders. Made my hair thicker, stronger and longer. Hard to believe it could be so great, I know. You can find it at Whole Foods. I promise you won't be disappointed! For all of you keratin clients out there (like me) you will be happy to hear that it is also sulfate free.

Happy Washing!

Lately.

If you came over to my house, this is what you would see...

Stain. It's for an upcoming wedding project I will be working on that involves a wooden pallet, rope, calligraphy and some old paper.

Maps. Since our wedding is themed Vintage Cuba, maps have played a large part in our decor & they are currently all over my kitchen table.

Fall Scented Candles. Fall is my favorite season (hence why I wanted a November wedding). The wreaths, the colors and the smells...there is nothing better than coming home to a sweet blend of cinnamon & pumpkin.

Tools. My future hubby's soon to be man cave has been turned into a temporary wood shop. With all of the renovations going on around here, we need all the extra space we can get!

Big Holes. Yes, you are looking at our roof through that hole. My fiance & his dad have been working on creating an attic for the upcoming central air installation in the house.

So there you have it. What my life looks like right this second. I guess you can say we are project people. We love working on all sorts of things.

What's going on at your house?

Low Calorie Chili Recipe

Thanks to the hurricane, I am off today! This extra day is just what I needed to keep working on our wedding invitations! We are DIYing them and can't wait to finish!

So while I am home today, attempting to stay dry, I thought you'd enjoy a perfect rainy day recipe! I made it this weekend for the men (aka my fiance and his dad) during some of our house renovations, and it was a total hit!

 5 Step Low Calorie Chili

- 1 lb ground turkey or beef
- 1 Tbs olive oil
- 1 can dark kidney beans (drained)
- 1 can light kidney beans (drained)
- 1 6oz/8oz can of tomato sauce
- 1/2 onion chopped
- salt/ pepper to taste
.......
- sour cream (optional)
- shredded sharp cheddar cheese (optional)
- red pepper flakes (optional)

How To:

1. Brown ground meat, onion and olive oil in large sauce pan.
2. Once meat is brown, add tomato sauce and beans.
3. Mix through.
4. Let simmer for 20 minutes.
5. Add salt/pepper to taste.
I also add red pepper flakes for a little kick, but that is only optional.

Optional: Top with sour cream & shredded cheese.

Can be served over rice, with corn chips, or even over a small bed of chopped lettuce.

Enjoy!
