My Go-To "Winter" Attire

Living in Miami, the temperature never really drops below 65 degrees. Lately, its been hotter than usual - so you can forget about throwing on anything more than this.

In my perfect world, the temperature would be 70 degrees all year round. Why you ask? Because then I would get to wear this style all year round. While in Cali a few weeks ago, the weather was glorious. My everyday wear usually involved a pair of boots, jeans, a button down and a sweater. If I had to pick one word to describe my style, it would have to be classic. I do not like overly complicating my outfits. I like crisp lines, simple pattens and neutrals (excluding black).

This outfit it perfect for a running errands, grabbing coffee with a friend or walking around the country side as we did.

How (Rodan + Fields) Worked For Me

A few weeks ago, I tested a new & highly recommended facial line.

Rodan + Fields® Dermatologists is committed to offering real people real results with their skincare. And while everyday skin conditions can be complex, the solutions don't have to be. That's why our Products are based on philosophy of Multi-MedTherapy—using the right medicines and active cosmetics, in the right formulations, in the right order.

About:
I was sent a facial kit that included Micro-Dermabrasion Paste, Retinol and Peptide. The first step was to massage the micro contents over my face for 30-60 seconds (dry). Next, I was instructed to apply retinol and peptides.

...

Micro-Dermabrasion- Sugar and salt scrub featuring vitamin C & E. Meant to give skin a brighter, refined complexion and that it did! At first, I was surprised how it was applied while my skin was dry- and felt as if dead layers were being peeled away!

Retinol- A thick paste that felt sticky to touch, but when spread felt like new layers were being added on to my skin. I can see why this product claims to bring life to dead skin, it wasn't kidding around.

Peptide- This product was the last to apply in the kit. It was a nice way to end the routine because of its cooling affect. The peptide felt very moisturizing and sent me straight off to bed to wake in the morning with a glowing and smooth complexion.

All in all, I truly believe this product is game changer and can't wait to order my first full set!

My Favorite Blow Dry Tools

Lately I've been experimenting with different hair products and tools - due to a collapse in my dryer. After many hours of heat and damage, I decided I should work towards figuring the best methods to protect my hair.

Hair Type: thin, curly, frizzy and oily. Sounds attractive - So now that you know my hair type, you can understand why I need to work at making it manageable.

Products:

Aquage- I've been using this product for over 2 years and really does what it says. This product is a volumizing uplifting foam. Before blow drying, I section off my hair and spray horizontal lines of the product directly onto my scalp. Not only does this product help with volume, it also makes my blowouts last longer without looking oily. Make sure that you blow dry after applying the product - if not, you will be left with a gunky build up.

GVP Matrix Sleek Look- I love this generic line of products sold at Sally's. When you compare the ingredients, they really are exactly the same - at 1/4 of the cost! This product is used as a styling cream/heat protectant. I apply it to the ends of my hair only.

Jilbere (porcelain series hair dryer)- I just purchased this dyer last week after reading many reviews on it and it works much better than my last dryer that cost over $100. The cost of the new one you ask...$38. It is currently on sale this week so make sure to snag one for yourself! What isn't there to love about this dryer. It's quiet, light weight, heavy duty and makes your hair shiny & smooth. In the past, I always had to straighten after I blow dry, but with this dryer, my hair is left with so much volume and shine.

Fall Lip Color

The other day while walking through the mall, I decided to stop by the Mac counter and see what fall lip colors they had. I have always wanted to pull off the a deep plum/red during this time of year but never seemed to find the right shade for my complection.

I finally found it!

Color: Viva Glam Matte

My thoughts: After wearing this lipstick all day Friday, I really fell in love with it. I applied it around 7:30am and only had to reapply once. I actually had to scrub it off at night it was so good! My real test with lipstick is the lunch/coffee break test - and guess what? It didn't even budge.

What type of lipstick do you wear?

Welcome Fall Fashion

Living in Miami, I don't really need to wear warm clothes...so, I find other ways to improvise with color. I love outfits like this one because it is very versatile. I can wear my cardigan inside the classroom to keep warm, but still have the option of taking it off outside. I also love the comfort a maxi skirt provides. Especially working with 1st graders, you find yourself spending a lot of reading time on the floor.

Skirt: Target// Belt: TJ Maxx// Shoes: DSW// Cami: Express// Cardigan: Nordstrom Rack// Necklace: Nordstrom

This week I will be working on a fall wreath for our new front door! I can't wait to show you.
