In other news... we are keeping it pretty low key tonight. Grabbing some coffee with friends, hitting some golf balls (

Happy Friday!
Aside from the holidays, the summer months are my favorite for entertaining. Simple, fresh salads with your friends on the porch or juicy burgers for the guys by the pool. And while no one wants to spend the warm days locked up in the kitchen, simple recipes work for us during this time of year!
A few weeks ago, I threw this easy and fresh salad together to bring to a friend's house and it was a hit! The best part is how simple it truly was - only 6 ingredients!
Caprese Salad:
3 ripe tomatoes, sliced
ball of mozzarella cheese, sliced
basil
salt/pepper
olive oil
balsamic vinegar
1. Slice up the tomatoes and cheese to your liking.
2. Add basil.
3. Drizzle oil & vinegar.
4. Add salt/pepper to taste.
5. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
What your favorite summertime go-to meal for a crowd?
For the past 9 days, I have been participating in the #
Ruth study and have absolutely loved it. I've always been fascinated by the story of Ruth, her dedication to her mom-in-law and her desirable trust in the Lord.
The book of Ruth is a book about real life. A story of a real family. Real hurts, heartbreak and an undying devotion to those that you love. As the study so beautifully put it, "Ruth's ordinary story is a lot like ours, it bears the fingerprints of an extraordinary God. He is the only one who will not perish, who will never leave us, who will provide and who will protect."
If you have some extra time this week, I encourage you to join in on the
. I know you will enjoy it and walk away with many truths on your own life as I did with mine.
Sweet Tuesday my friends!
This past weekend, my little sister road the train down to visit, and one of the places we took her was to "Wynwood Walls". Wynwood is a part of town where some of the greatest artists and graffiti painters display their work on the walls of buildings. While in Wynwood, you never know what you will come across. The street art is constantly changing!
My favorite parts of the Wynwood are the amazing restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries that have come about in a once very run down neighborhood. With a similar feel to Seattle or Hayes Valley, San Francisco, I highly recommend paying a visit to the Wynwood area while in Miami!
Our week has felt a bit stranger than usual- Gabriel came home from a business trip with the
awful
flu and Gari came down with an stomach bug on his 1st birthday. Nonetheless, we still managed to get some stuff done (
like this new blog layout
) and are looking forward to this weekend-
is coming in town to visit!!
Here's the top 5 of the week:
1. When Gabriel is out of town, you can find me indulging in many of these savory babies.
2. Decided to do some summer updating throughout the house.
3. Happy 1st Birthday to my sweet puppy, Gari! He even got a present and all. What a life.
4. Loved working on this order for an awesome surprise birthday!
5. Cannot wait to deliver these kraft paper save the dates next week. This is only the back view of course.
Have a great weekend!!
